Amir Sadollah Defeats Brad Blackburn

Amir Sadollah put in a great performance tonight. He didn’t make the mistake he made when Johny Hendricks knocked him out. By that I mean, Amir avoided getting knocked out. That’s a good thing.

To be a little more specific – Amir has shown composure beyond his years. It’s amazing he’s able to compete at this level with five pro fights under his belt. He’s a much more technical striker than when he was on the Ultimate Fighter.

Brad Blackburn put in an okay showing here. His striking is decent but not at the level he made it out to be. Obviously, he didn’t have the wrestling talent to put Amir on his back.

In fact, Bad Brad was the one on his back. Luckily for him, Amir decided to pass (or try to) rather than focus on doing damage. That was an error on Amir’s part that didn’t amount to much. Still, he looks silly when he does nothing in side control. Eventually, he found an awkward top position to do damage. However he would have been better off holding on to Brad, rather than giving him an opportunity to get loose.

One thing’s for sure – in order to be a great talk show host, you have to beat a great striker. Or…something like that.

Next Fight: Aaron Simpson vs. Tom Lawlor
