Cain Velasquez vs. Denis Stojnic

Cain Velasquez’s rising career was put in jeopardy when he was involved in the infamous “AKA fighters not signing away their likenesses to a video game” scandal. Thankfully, it looks like that silliness was been left behind…along with Jon Fitch who got stuck on the prelims last week.

Cain however gets a main card spot to showcase his dominating wrestling skills. This guy has looked like a monster in his few UFC appearances. He demolished Jake O’Brian, the man who upset Heath Herring.

It’s tough to say if newcomer Denis Stojnic is going to be the test Cain needs right now. My guess is that the UFC feels that Cain is going to be a star in the making and they want to bring him along slowly. Denis Stojnic has a great MMA record, which means he has at least some chance of pulling off an upset. But unless he has a great chin and the ability to not get manhandled by Cain’s whirlwind takedowns he’s going to be in trouble.
