Dan Henderson vs. Michael Bisping

Dan Henderson defeats Michael Bisping
by KO at UFC 100

Dan Henderson was indeed quite dangerous tonight, as he put Michael Bisping out for the count. There’s not that much more to this match, but it was so much fun to watch that it begs for more analysis.

Michael Bisping should consider a personality overhaul. He’s shown glimmers of maturity in the past. However during the past season of the ultimate fighter his douche-baggery took center stage. Most people were a little disappointed that Henderson didn’t respond to it. What we didn’t know is that he was just saving his reaction for one big punch. Actually, there were two punches, but Bisping will only remember the first one.

Bisping spent the fight punching at a distance and running for dear life. It was great to watch him panic whenever Dan threw a power punch. His big mistake was circling to the left, as Dan is right-handed. You need to circle away from your opponent’s power hand…or so it seems.

Dan’s strategy looked like it was going to cost him a decision, as he didn’t throw nearly as many strikes as his opponent. Even though it worked great here, he should still consider offering a more varied approach than “here comes my right hand”.
