Keith Jardine vs. Ryan Bader

This is an intriguing match-up. Keith Jardine is arguably the more dynamic striker. He definitely has the better leg kicks. However Jardine’s chin is so fragile it belongs in a china shop. Actually, more like a second-rate pawnshop, as it’s already been cracked a few times.

Ryan Bader will have the edge in the wrestling department. He’s great at grinding out wins like so many others have (Matt Hughes being the classic example). Still, he may want to re-think his usual strategy. On the mat, Jardine is notoriously hard to finish. Plus, Keith has a lot more octagon experience than Bader.

Ryan’s cardio looked a bit sketchy the last time we saw him. He may want to keep things on the feet for as long as possible. He’s already proved how effective his striking can be. He just needs to save his energy for when he needs to throw a big overhand right. Sadly, Jardine will inevitably leave a big opening.

If Bader can use footwork to avoid getting his legs chopped down, he’ll be in a good position to punch Jardine’s ticket. Come fight night, expect Joe Rogan to make further ticket/button-punching references.
