Kimbo Slice Defeats Houston Alexander

Houston, we have a problem. In the UFC, you’ve lost more fights than you’ve won. You have a ground game that would make Cheick Kongo blush. Now, you don’t even have that aggression that got you this job in the first place.

As it turns out, he really was the perfect opponent for Kimbo Slice. For once, Kimbo got to be the one on top. He throws nothing but power shots too. They’re effective, but only when they connect. He’s gotta work on conserving his energy. Plus, he needs to develop the jab. It may not be useful in the backyard but it’s essential in the UFC.

Luckily for him, this fight consisted mostly of dancing. Kimbo won the decision because Houston was in constant retreat mode. It’s great that Slice got the victory, as he’s obviously a draw. However the UFC will have to risk his credibility when they give him a more dangerous opponent.

Fans would rather see him lose on the feet than get embarrassed on the ground. So, they should send in a striker like Antoni Hardonk. That would make for a fun match. Though, I’d hate to see what a good kick boxer could do to Kimbo’s arthritic knees.

Next Fight: Matt Hamill vs. Jon Jones
