Krzysztof Soszynski vs. Brian Stann
Krzysztof Soszynski defeats Brian Stann Brian Stann is one fighter who obviously doesn’t have much of a ground game. His promotion to the UFC was truly a case of “too much, too soon”. Krzysztof Soszynski looked like he knew what he was doing when he took the fight to the ground. It’s almost as if this fight was designed to put him over. Their struggle on the ground reminded me of a pro-wrestling bout. It was obvious Krzysztof’s finisher was the kimura because he tried for it the first chance he got. They teased it was going to go on right away but Stann defended it, if only to build more drama. However the ref must have told them to wrap it up quick, as when Krzysztof went for it moments later he got it on tight. This is what you would call a “squash match”. Krzysztof thankfully got away from his prankster persona by giving a very respectful post-match interview. I expected Stann to reveal that Krzysztof had put itching powder in his trunks before the fight. Sadly, that revelation never came about. Next Fight: Shogun vs. Chuck Liddell
