Mac Danzig vs. Josh Neer

Mac Danzig is probably still bitter about losing the decision to the Superior Smothering of Clay Guida. Josh Neer on the other hand has to be thanking the UFC for not taking him off the card for a recent DUI charge.

Regardless of these circumstances they’re both solid fighters. Both of them need a win to stay in the mix of the lightweight division. They both got edged out in their previous fights so it’s tough to say who’s going to have momentum coming into this match.

Josh Neer has been around for a long time and doesn’t look like he’ll ever crack the top 10 of any weight class. He’s certainly earned his “gatekeeper” status in the UFC. Danzig seems like he’s got more potential to get closer to a title shot. Having said that, I’m not sold on either man being able to cause trouble for the top lightweights.

Whoever gets on top and controls the pace will certainly win the fight. Danzig’s probably the better wrestler so I’ll go with him to win by decision.
