Michael Bisping vs. Denis Kang
Michael Bisping didn't want to be knocked the hell out again. So, he asked Dana White for someone who's been lukewarm in the UFC. Dana told Mike that Denis Kang has name value but isn't that dangerous. At least, that's how I envisioned the conversation. Unfortunately, Kang is best known for being submitted by stand-up specialist (and fashion guru) Alan Belcher. He came in to the UFC with a lot of hype, having accomplished a lot in PRIDE. There's a lot of guys that have struggled to make the transition to the cage, and Kang was no exception. In all fairness, Kang was winning that fight until he dove head first into Belcher's arms. After that, he got a decent win over a guy named Professor X. Now, he's looking for that high profile UFC win that will get him the respect he feels he deserves. Michael Bisping wants to stick-and-move his way to a unanimous decision victory. It's a solid plan, as he is the better striker. It's hard to say who's going to win. Bisping has won all but one of his middleweight bouts in the UFC, but he hasn't fought most of the top names. Denis Kang has won some big matches in his career. However it's unclear what he'll amount to in 2010 and beyond. Therefore, Bisping can be called the favorite in this match, if only because he's the more established UFC fighter.
