Dan Miller vs. Chael Sonnen

Dan Miller was responsible for spoiling the debut of WEC alumnus (and former super model) Jake Rosholt. Chael Sonnen has already had his UFC debut spoiled by Demian Maia, so…he’ll be really pissed if he loses this fight.

These two both like to use their wrestling, but Miller has proved to be the more competent grappler. Sonnen is probably still having nightmares, due to getting submitted by the once-relevant Paulo Filho.

Miller has been able to use his aggressive style to overwhelm opponents. Sonnen on the other hand likes to take a more methodical approach to his fights. He is probably not the one that will catch Miller making a mistake. However if Sonnen can survive the early onslaught of Miller he’ll have a chance to win. When he sees that Dan is getting tired, he’s going to need to step on the gas.

If Sonnen is at all tentative from his recent defeats, he’ll lose the match. If Miller is able to stay aggressive without completely burning himself out, he’ll overwhelm Sonnen.

Some people will look at this as a really close fight – and it probably is. I however have lost confidence in Sonnen (never really was sold on him to begin with) and feel confident Miller will win this fight. Hopefully Dan will not deviate from his usual game plan just because he’s facing a more well-known fighter.
