Paulo Thiago Defeats Mike Swick

The fall of Mike Swick continues. He’s lost all his confidence from his initial run as a middleweight. Despite his pre-fight talk, he did not in fact go for the finish from the opening bell. He was tentative from the beginning until he took his nap. It’s a damn shame too because Swick can throw some lightning fast combinations. Now, he throws one punch every thirty seconds.

Paulo Thiago on the other hand looks awesome. Like Joe said, he’s improved a lot since his UFC debut. Tonight, Paulo was very comfortable on his feet. He threw a couple of great leg kicks that put Swick on the defensive.

You also need to notice how strong Thiago looks. A year ago, he looked kinda skinny. He’s obviously done as much as possible to build up muscle mass. Plus, he did it without losing any speed or cardio.

There’s little else to say – except that the choke was awesome. Despite being a UFC veteran, Mike Swick was caught by surprise. He was probably still rocked from the punch that Paulo threw a moment earlier.

Also, Thiago should have won submission of the night - but he lost due to lack of seniority. Is the UFC unionized now?
