Sean Sherk vs. Frank Edgar

Despite losing to BJ Penn in decisive fashion, the UFC is determined to give Sean Sherk another shot at the lightweight title. That’s why they’ve given him another comeback fight that he can easily win. Frank Edgar has the same strengths as Sherk. However Sherk is just “a little bit better at everything his opponent does well”.

It should also be noted that Sherk has been generously given an opponent who doesn’t have a height advantage over him. That Dana White, what a nice guy.

Even if one takes a less sarcastic approach towards this fight, there’s not much more to say. Both guys don’t have a lot of finishing skills. That means that whoever has the ability to execute his game plan of choice will win the fight.

Sherk has always been able to out-last his opponent, provided he doesn’t get mauled in the process. Edgar, much like Sherk, has average striking skills. Sherk is the more explosive athlete, which will give him the edge while standing. Their wrestling is about even but Sean definitely has the size and strength advantage.

Did I mention that this fight is designed for Sherk to win?
