Wanderlei Silva vs. Michael Bisping
Wanderlei Siilva is one of the most dangerous fighters this sport has to offer. The man has earned such lofty praise. As Michael Bisping has been quick to point out, Wanderlei hasn’t been winning a lot recently. Still, you can’t put him up against newcomers, as that would be cruel. Besides, you can tell Silva craves competition. Bisping is known as a decision-friendly striker. He throws lots of straight punches. He’s good at utilizing his range. He doesn’t try to get in close for a fight-ending shot. Bisping prefers to circle endlessly away from his opponent in an effort to frustrate him. There’s a good chance Silva will get frustrated and lose a decision. He needs to study Michael’s loss to Dan Henderson. Silva needs to back Bisping into the cage so he can’t escape. Wanderlei will need to do a lot of waiting before he can really unload. We’ll find out just how patient this guy can be. For the most part, I like Silva to win this fight. However my big concern is the weight cut. This guy has never fought at 185 before. Apparently, he struggled to make 195 against Rich Franklin. Simply put, he’s not accustomed to cutting weight. Once we hear reports of how his cut went, we’ll have a much better idea of what his chances are of beating Bisping.
